If you’re taking a drive on Hwy 60 through the towns of Leeds, Hampden, and Columbus, Wisconsin, your drive should be a little smoother. Last Summer, M Squared Engineering was proud to oversee and manage a construction/rehabilitation project on HWY 60 through Columbus County, WI by using a more cost-effective, greener alternative to conventional roadway maintenance and rehabilitation techniques. Cold In-place recycling (CIR) is a process that cold mills and recycles the asphalt using a continuous train operation. Through the complete reuse of existing material, CIR significantly reduces trucking, time, and natural resources to significantly lower project costs. This project was part of three (3) project studies with the WisDOT Bureau of Technical Services to incorporate this more efficient technology into more statewide projects.
